Porn? Prices!

Ever since the invention of private browsing mode the suspicion was there that it was merely a way to avoid being catched for surfing porn. Or at least, so I am told.

Now the good folks at Bitter Wallet give us at least one legit reason to use it, which is to fool some shady princing tactics which require cookies.

Apparently, the second time you visit the Ryanair site checking for fares, these will mysteriously go up about GBP100 – and judging from the comments, they seem to be not the only marketer who does that.

I do not have a clear opinion about whether this is illegal or not (even though it certainly is NOT a friendly behaviour), and this was already discussed in April, when another site (Tnooz) claimed it had proven this to be a myth. Not being able to decide, I think I will set my browser on Private Mode in permanence.

Just to be safe.
