2009 Global brands

Sister agency Interbrand releases their “2009 Top Global Brands” ranking – interesting as always: Coke #1, IBM #2, Microsoft #3, GE #4 and Nokia #5, all these unchanged from last year; then Mc Donald’s who gains two and Google who continues its ascent. Apple is only at #20, surprising.

  1. It’s all about lifestyle branding! Apple at #20 is a surprise, agreed, but one might expect that to skyrocket. The shrinking of advertising has certainly affected companies and brands e.g., Intel, Citi, American Express, Marlboro.
