Pic of the day, but this is becoming boring, maybe I should skip.
Much of the puffing is gone, but face is still significantly swollen, with vast insensitive areas. I can eat (basically slurp) any food of the yogurt consistency, feed times are down to almost normal, but the process is messy. Won’t get any Royal Dinners invitations as I stand now.
Have worked for a good part of the day.
Lips hurt, only partially helped by generous and frequent vaseline ointments; drooling is also annoying, as I can’t still close the mouth completely mostly because of the implements that will sit there for another three weeks (sigh!). I realized that the mouth corners are the bits that have suffered the most damage from all the stretching and pulling, and they are returning the favor by hurting like hell although I see no cracks.
I still get what seems like enormous quantities of meds to help recovery, but haven’t needed a single painkiller after midday on Day 1.
Sleep quality is not bad considering lip pain and objects in the mouth, but I’m not that tired from sitting here all day and looking pretty, and I come from a twenty-plus years tradition of max 4-5 hour per night - I certainly awake well rested and raring to go, but energy levels are still low; probably lost a couple of kilos (which I will not miss).
I asked one of the doctors if I can start blowing my nose, but he advised not to for another few days to allow perfect healing; I have been spraying it to avoid clogging and this worked pretty well so far, so I am not worried
I will also probably conclude the daily updates tomorrow, and move to a weekly one, as there is not going to be much in terms of daily improvements; I have started today my lobbying to make sure the metal crowns are removed before June 13th, as I don’t think I will be able to speak for an afternoon with the diabolic little things on.
I am also worried at the need to replace the elastic bands every day: my notorious inability with practical things like this (and my wrist disfunctions – remember them ?) will not help, but we’ll see.
Final note: I wish the guys in IT managed to get my updates uploaded, but for some reason this has been a problem so far – let’s hope they fix it on monday; also I wish I knew why Windows keeps crashing its General Host Process after so much traffic has gone by; if I was able to connect some other way I’d look on discussion board as I am sure it’s nothing more complicated than an updated DLL, but for now I am afraid I will need to settle for frequent reboots.
